Your responsibilities:
As an integral member of our international team, you will be helping to shape our community platform as a whole. You will be part of a highly motivated team, which develops the entire backend functionality for one of Europe’s largest dating communities, using proven processes, with a final hand-over to operations. You will also be working closely with product management, giving you the opportunity to use your creativity for further product and platform enhancements by introducing innovative ideas and suggestions which will contribute to the overall success of this exciting business.
Specifically, you’ll be involved with the following challenges:
• Development of state-of-the-art, large-scale web applications
• Compilation of technical documentation and guidelines
• Technical consulting to product management & co-operation with an off-shore development Location
• Mentoring and steering on a technical and architectural level as lead developer
• Quality assurance through regular code reviews, unit tests and process improvements.
Our requirements:
• A good degree in computer science (or related field) and at least 3 years of professional experience within web-centric Java projects, potentially with leading skills
• Practical experience with J2EE applications and Java MVC and ORM frameworks
• Familiarity with SQL (preferably experience with MySQL) and related abstraction frameworks(Ibatis)
• Experience with software architecture & design by means of UML and OOA&D
• Skilled in Unix/Linux and application deployments under Tomcat
• Preferable knowledge in technical project steering and mentoring of team members
• A highly committed individual who is both motivated and a pro-active team player on an International level
